I’m super excited to announce that my first children’s picture book, A home for Luna, will be launched in Australia/New Zealand in August, then the UK in September. Written by Stef Gimmell, A home for Luna is a gorgeous story of a Cat lost, but finds a home amongst unlikely friends. It’s a really sweet story and I’m excited to see it hit the bookshelves soon. It recently made its way to the Bologna Book Fair in Italy with its publishers New Frontier Publishing.

Congrats Mel will keep an eye out for it in the shops.
Ooohhh…thanks so much Sasha! I’ll post when it’s in the shops!
Hi Mel, I’m so happy I found this blog! I’ve been studying surface pattern design for a few months and did a course too, but another one of my passions is children’s book illustration, although I never tried it. At the moment I’m doing the children’s book illustration course with Nina Rycroft and I’ve been wondering if I should chose either pattern design or the illustration path as I thought they were so different. However now that I see your blog post I am so happy that I don’t have to chose, I can do them both! Thank you Mel!
Absolutely you can do both Katia! I’m working on 3 books at the moment, alongside my surface design work. It’s a great balance and keeps me very busy. I loved Nina’s course also. I did the pilot one over a year ago.
I look forward to seeing your work!
